Dear Family, Friends & Supporters,
 
Greetings from Belize. Hoping all is well with you and your family. The new year have started a very busy one for us but good. The lord have been so good to us in many ways. Radio continue to run 24 - 7 as Richard as the Station Manager, Since last year most of our older staff have move on and the Lord have release us to a new crew of which we have been spending more time with them in the mentoring and decipleing them. Sometime it feels like we are in meeting after meeting but it's all about the mentoring of the new staff that God have given to us. They all are ablessing to us. On Tuesday we continue to meet with the HIV Support group in prison. We have started a HIV Support group here at My Refuge. The Lord have been doing a great work in the lives of these men and women as they open up there heart to him. We continue to have once a month marriage couple meetings. In February we had our annual marriage couple valentine banquet. It was such a rich moment for couple's. We have receive many calls from these couple telling us how much their marriage have been encourage. We thank God that we are able to have a once a month couple's get together as this have been very good for our marriage as well. There was 78 couple's. We want to Thank those who help us in the cordinating of this event. In Belize there is a great need for family and marriage counciling as we have been doing a lot of councilling this month. We thank God that he have been giving break throught to these marriage in restoring there commitment to each other. This Friday, the 20th March we are have a married couple meeting looking at the movie 'Fire Proof". We will also be doing a married couple night in Belize City on the 27th March 2009. Could you please pray for these event that the Lord would meet every couple that will be attending.Thanks to Faith Lutheran Mission team and also Mr & Mrs Wolf from Minnessota who came to brighten our Valentine Annual Banquet in February.
 
FAMILY: Shamah is now 12 year old and in 7th grade. Caleb is 10yrs and in 5th Grade and Joshua 4yrs and in Preschool. Eva is now 21yrs old (our adopted daughter)We are greatful and thankful to see the Lord working in our children lives. Shamah and Caleb now have a program on the radio. Joshua keep telling them that he is going to have a program on the radio as well. They have been doing good in School. We are so thankful for God's provision for them to be at the school that they are attending. It does make a big difference in there live to be in a christian school. We want to take this opportunity to Thank there supporter for their obedience to God and the investment in our children growth. We do not take it lightly. We appreciate every support in prayer and financial support.We are praying and hoping that they can continue to go to school at BCA.
 
STAFF UPDATE: These are the names of our staff. Mr. Barry (from Bermuda),Cirilo,James,Myron,Roxana(Staff Cook),Rory & Samuel & Melinda and two children Joshua 13yrs and Elizabeth 11yrs. Jason is here with us he has been one of the young men from our support group from Prison, we are not sure how long he will be with us.
Heraldo (16yrs old )came to live with us after his mom was murder in Dec.2008. He is Cirilo's brother. Asher (from New Jersey) He just join us a couple of weeks ago.
James will be leaving us in May. He is fixing to go to Australia. Cirilo will be getting married on April 26th. We thank God for releasing us with this beautiful group of people.
 
MISSION OUTREACH TEAM: This year have been very slow. We have no register team for this summer as yet. We've had two teams and couple of individual friends who came so far and would want to thank them for coming to Belize and partnering with us in the different areas of Ministry.Most people seem to not wanting to travel out of there country due to the economic crisis however God have been sending individuals who constantly stoping to serve in the mision work in Belize.For those teams that came for the past year we sure would like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for coming to serve in Belize. My Refuge now have a Gospel Band by the name of Kairos Gospel Band. Rosa and Shamah is a part of the group. Richard is the engineer. We have been going as a group to do street meeting at the different villages on a monthly basis. We also so go and do open air meeting at fairs. This April and May we have two major fairs to do ministry at. Could you please pray for our time of Ministry as we go out each month.
 
THANK YOU to all who have supported us thru prayers, encouragement & with financial support. We want you to know that we appreciate your partnership in seeing the kingdom of God be built here in Belize and in other nations. As My Refuge radio have been on the Internet reaching out to other nation with the gospel thru Christian Radio.Special Thanks to our brothers from Canada who have allow us to be on the Internet by providing the system for us. Many blessing to all of you and your family as we continue to stand together in the building of God's Mighty Kingdom.
 
PRAYER NEEDS:
1. For Cirilo's weeding that coming up in April.
2. For a Radio Manager
3. A full time Secretary
4. financial support of $3000.00Bze to reach our monthly budget to pay our bills.
5. Richard & Rosa and children. Especially Shamah and Josh as they have been going thru treatment for a colon infection (H.Pylori) for total healing.Also for our family financial needs of $400.00 more to meet our family budget monthly.
6. For God's wisdom and understanding as we continue to offer counceling to marriages, HIV and family.

Dear Supporters, Partners and Friends,

On behalf of My Refuge Christian Radio Station, I would like to thank you for your support, prayer and joint effort in our Vision of Marriage and Prison ministry, and broadcasting Jesus throughout our Nation and the rest of the world via internet. Your commitment to helping My Refuge’s Vision in our small, but blessed Country of Belize is sincerely appreciated.

Each year My Refuge continues to advance its mission of Reaching the Nation of Belize.  Through our Prison and Marriage ministry we have seen many lives changed for the better.

In particular the Prison Ministry has enjoyed great success in the past year. Our HIV support group is focused on cooping with this particular sickness, maintaining a new health way of living and spiritual rehabilitation and encouragement while living within the prison system. We have seen many inmates not only give there life to the Lord, but is now also encouraging and training others as well.

The goal of the Prison Ministry is to continue to make a difference in the members of our HIV support group lives and to disciple them into becoming mighty children of God outside of prison.

Thanks to all of our Mission teams that has visited us throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you all again. We love and miss you all and may God add His wonderful blessings to you Christmas and new years. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you again soon. Your work here in Belize has been a great help to our development and we are very greatful for your support and prayers.

Kairos Gospel Band

In the New Testament kairos means "the appointed time in the purpose of God", the time when God acts (e.g. Mark 1.15, the kairos is fulfilled).

Kairos Gospel Band is My Refuge supported Gospel Band. They play a wide variation of Christian Music. Reggae, Contemporary, Gospel, Country, Worship, Youth Alternative and Spanish.  Special Thanks to there effort and hard work for the past year. We pray the Lord will continue to bless them and take them to new heights and a new level with Jesus Christ for 2009.

We would like to give God praise for the successful 2008 Christmas Marriage Retreat. It was a fun filled night we look forward to the next event. We thank all those couples who were able to attend and to those who sponsored couples to attend. You are investing in Gods purpose for Marriage. We also pray that many more will be able to attend Our Valentine Banquet on February 21^st.

With the help of your prayers, effort and contributions from supporters and missionaries such as you we will continue to see improvements in the Vision God has commissioned for us.
