Message from My Refuge: March, 2010

God is our Refuge and Strength a very present help in trouble.

He definitely has been our refuge and strength. We want to give thanks and praise to our God for his faithfulness of keeping us. Warm Greetings from My Refuge hoping all is well with you and your family. We want to say thanks for your continual prayers and your partnership in reaching out to the Nation of Belize. 2009 has definitely been a challenging and exciting one. We had 2 teams register for the spring and none for the summer. The lord open a door in sending us 2 other team for the summer of which they came and partnered with us in doing evangelism, prison and Marriage ministry. These groups have been such a encouragement to us as a ministry. It was such a refreshing moment to be able to serve them and they were able serve us as well. We want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all our Missionary team that came and partner with us in 2009.

Radio:
It has been 16yrs that we are able to have My Refuge Radio on the air 24/7. It was only possible because of God's faithfulness in coming thru for us each month, we want to give him all Thanks and Praise. In July 2009, Richard was invited by a Christian TV Station to carry his morning show "Eyes on the Nation" Mon. thru Friday which is now on Radio and TV. It has been a blessing to those who have been listening. This program has opened the door to more counseling as people sends text message of there concerns. There was one morning he received a text message saying how would you advise a friend that is about to commit an abortion. He call the lady and find out that she was the one who the next day had an appointment to do the abortion. Thank God that Richard was able to offer council to this lady and us as a Ministry was able to help her out for a couple of months until she was able to refocus. It was such a joy to see her finish strong and she had the beautiful bundle of Joy in January 2010. She and the baby is doing great she now has a job and are serving the Lord. Praise God. Our Radio Staff consists of Mr. Barry Fraser from Bermuda, Julio Soza from Guatemala/Belize, Asher from U.S.A along with Richard and Vinson from Belize City. We need your prayers for about two more staff for radio. We want to Thank God for sending these staff to serve with us.

PRISON MINISTRY:
We continue to work with prison with HIV and now the prison official have invited us to working with the inmate 2 month before release. This is to better equip them to able to adjust back to normal life when they are out of prison both spiritually and physically. Please pray that God would send us a helper in this department. The harvest is ripe but laborers are few.

OUTREACH:
We have just started Village Vibes of which we used this as three fold 1. is to mobilize the church for outreach 2. to mobilize the gifts and talent amount our young people and also to impact the community for Christ. Every Tuesday we have Marriage couples date night where we have bible study together. This have been such an encouraging moment for couples as we are able to come away from our children and focus on our challenges and able to embrace each other thru prayers and encouragement. Every year we host a annual Valentine Banquet. Last year we had 81 couples that came and this February 2010 we had 40 couples that were able to attend. It was such a rich moment for us as couples. We want to Thank our international guest who came to serve with us in the marriage couple banquet and Seminar that was held this February. Every Monday, Richard and a couple of other Pastor meet with the Mayor and his executive group for prayer.

FAMILY:
Our children continue to grow. Shamah is now 13yrs, Caleb is 11yrs and Joshua is 5yrs. Both Shamah and Caleb are on the Radio hosting a show. They both are attending a Christian school which have been a blessing for them. We want to thank there supporters who have supported them for the past years. Thanks for your investment in there lives. I am homeschooling Joshua since September last year. He is doing well, but misses his friend I'm praying that we could send him to school this September. Please pray for us that the Lord would provide the finances we need to be able to send him to school.

financial support of $3000.00Bze to reach our monthly budget to pay our bills.
Richard & Rosa and children. Also for our family financial needs of $400.00 more to meet our family budget monthly.
For God's wisdom and understanding as we continue to offer counceling to marriages, HIV and family.
Financial support for new projects such as Mentoring Program ($100.00 US/month/person – to cover room/board) to take young men and woman through a three month mentoring program.
New development such as staff housing and conference room
Sponsorship of programs on radio.
Monthly Sponsorship of staff
Sponsoring of community students to attend school.
